Moving is a Wake-Up Call

May 24th, 2005

If you’re wondering, the move was successful.

Every time I move to a new place, it is like a wake-up call for me. I realize how disorganized my living area actually is because I have to sort everything into suitcases and boxes. I become more aware of how having ADD affects my personal life.

In the end, I would say that it is always therapeutic in some way (though always painful) and gives me the encouragement to improve my ways of coping with ADD. I always realize that there are things I can do to improve my life.

I’ve moved ALOT. Crap still lives in boxes, because I don’t know about you, but after I move, the ADD kicks in, and I sit in the middle of the room, transfixed by all the stuff, and interesting things to look at.

I always feel like a crow picking up the shiny objects…

I’ve moved 8 times in the last year (well, 13 months), before I was on Ritalin I just wasn’t happy with my place. Now I’ve been in one place 7 months and I’m a lot happier, although I still haven’t unpacked most of the boxes…
